175 foundations for the first phase of the world’s largest offshore turbine farm, London Array. Such was the order for Bladt Industries. The company bid on it and got it.
The billion kroner order is the largest in the history of Bladt Industries and helps to maintain the company’s position as market leader in foundations for offshore turbines.
With the signature, Bladt Industries also ensures that there is enough work for the company’s new million-kroner investment in new rolling facilities that were recently commissioned.
The offshore turbine park, London Array, will be the world’s largest farm yet, with an overall capacity of 630 MW. The farm will be able to supply power to 472,000 households when it is completed 20 km off the shore of Kent and Essex in England.
Bladt Industries previously manufactured 91 foundations together with Aarsleff/Bilfinger Berger in connection with the Horns Rev 2 farm in 2008.
“We have a developed a project setup that streamlines the processes in our projects, which allows us to remain attractive partners and see many of our customers return”, says CEO Peter Rindebæk.
“An order of this size produces stable work for the next couple of years, but we still have the capacity to serve both new and existing customers”, says the Bladt CEO.
